ASU Finishes 22nd in the Directors' Cup

Led by six teams achieving Top 10 national finishes, Sun Devil Athletics placed 22nd in the annual Learfield Sports Directors' Cup competition as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). The Directors' Cup measures the overall on-field success of the nation's athletics departments. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 20 sports - 10 men's and 10 women's.

The Directors' cup was developed as a joint effort between NACDA and USA Today. Originally sponsored by Sears, the first Directors' Cup was awarded for the 1993-94 academic year. After North Carolina captured the first Cup, Pac-10 rival Stanford has dominated the field winning the next 16 consecutive years, including 2009-10.  ASU has been a consistent contender having finished in the Top 25 each of the past 17 years.
