Sun Devil Basketball Announces 2011-12 Schedule

Sun Devil Basketball announced their 2011-12 schedule yesterday. In addition to the always tough Pac-10 schedule, they will take on at least six non-conference opponents that posted 20 or more wins last season.

Led by 2009-10 Pac-10 Coach of the Year Herb Sendek, the Sun Devils will look to continue the winning tradition he has built in his four seasons, including:

  • The only Pac-10 team with three consecutive 20 win seasons
  • The only Pac-10 team with a winning road record in league play in each of the past two seasons
  • Three consecutive postseason appearances
  • A school record 16 home wins in 2009-10
  • Six wins over rival Arizona in the past seven meetings

On the court Coach Sendek has a combination of key returners and a nationally ranked recruiting class ready to build upon the momentum he's started and add to the proud tradition of Sun Devil Athletics.  Returning for the Sun Devils are:

  • All-Pac-10 1st Team Selection Ty Abbott
  • All-Pac-10 Freshman Trent Lockett
  • Point Guard Jamelle McMillan and sharp shooter Rihards Kuksiks
